| Rates – we have managed to hold the line on canoe and
equipment rentals
this year with only small changes in the services sector - mainly in the
overnight rates for cabins and tenting. We completed a 2 year program to
replace all of the foam mattresses in the cabins last year and will be
upgrading the tenting facilities in the beach area this year. Shuttle rates
will be set closer to the summer when we know what gas prices are going to
be. Staff – our main man, Gary, will be returning, however, Ian is pursuing a career in the electrical field and will be in his second year of an apprenticeship program and Al is at Western and has yet to decide what to do this summer. Looks like we will have to recruit some new blood from the South River area (our contribution to help the unemployment picture.) Canoes – we will be adding more new canoes this summer, particularly in the ultra light area. The Souris River canoes have been particularly well received and currently represent the most frequently rented of our kevlars, (40-42lb plus excellent stability). We also offer kayak rentals using the Ookpik and Kasko models from Boreal Design in Quebec. Both have bow and stern hatches, and rudders to make navigating the Amable du Fond River a bit easier. Digital Pictures – as we have done in previous years we will be offering to take a free digital picture of your party and e-mail it to your home for viewing when you return from your trip. Other Services – we will be carrying a good range of products again this year. Items that may be forgotten in packing - sunscreen, repellents, first aid, fishing gear, etc. Clothing, including hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and a wide variety of head gear. Also refreshments such as, ice cream, cold drinks, chocolate bars, etc. Shuttle Service – we offer a shuttle service for customers wishing to be picked up at another access point or who wish to start at another access point and end their trip at Voyageur. This service is normally limited to 4 people, however special arrangements can be made for larger groups. Specials: - As last year, we are offering two canoe trip draws again this year. One will be open to canoe trip customers in July and the other in August. Each draw will be for a free 3 day rental of a 16' light weight canoe. Two paddles, two PFD'S and a safety kit are included. Value of the package is over $100.00. June 1 to June 25 - 10% off the normal rate for canoe
rentals. Discounts: - only one discount will be allowed in cases where more than one discount is available. The discount giving the best deal for the customer will be the one applied. In DOC format,
