Learn to Winter Camp - Manitou

Winter 2027: Feb 5-7, 2027 (Fri-Sun)

Arrive Friday at 4 pm at our Manitou Cottage (Friday night at the Manitou, Saturday night in a heated wall tent). Trip ends after lunch on Sunday.

Explore the northwest corner of Algonquin Park and experience Algonquin’s majestic wilderness in winter! Snowshoe across frozen lakes and through waist-deep snow. Learn winter backcountry travel skills and sleep in hot tents.

This winter expedition focuses on off-the-beaten-path outdoor exploration and backcountry travel skills. While no winter experience is necessary, this trip is a participatory adventure intended for adventure seekers who have some outdoor experience and are looking for an authentic adventure.

The cost is $795+HST per person.

The cost includes: One night at our Manitou Cottage, one night hot tent camping accommodation, meals dinner day 1 to lunch day 3, all equipment including snowshoes, skis and camping gear and winter camping instruction.
