With the emergence of COVID-19, a global pandemic, we find ourselves in unchartered waters riding out a storm. We hope you and your family are staying healthy.

As of April 1, 2020, Ontario is in a state of emergency with orders to stay home and self isolate. Algonquin Park and backcountry travel are closed until further notice. We have closed the following:

  • Our Voyageur Quest Algonquin Park Guiding operation is currently closed until further notice.
  • Our Outfitter, Voyageur Quest Outfitting and our Algonquin Canoe Outpost trippers cabins are also temporarily closed until May 10, 2020 (pending an update from the government). Our canoes are "bookable" for summer 2020 and we do encourage you to make a reservation, as we anticipate a high demand for rentals when the time comes.
  • Our Broken Paddle Patio is closed.

Do you need accommodation to shelter in place? Our fully contained lakeside cottages are available should you require accommodation for a safe and private alternative for "Sheltering in Place" ( as of April 3, 2020).

Please notes these are special rentals, and arrangements are made on a case by case basis - please contact our office.

Voyageur Quest is following Public Health guidelines and direction as we adjust and shape our 2020 season.

With heightened care and attention we have implemented stringent sanitation and operational practices. These procedures will be continuously evaluated, updated and communicated.

Looking ahead, there will be an end to this. At that time we look forward to providing you and your family a place to connect with each other, fresh air and adventure - all at the edge of Algonquin's wilderness.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to the people who have been affected by this unprecedented event and we appreciate the healthcare workers, local communities, and governments around the world who are on the front-lines working to contain this coronavirus and offering us all hope.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.
